夏休み中は、現在留学中の3年生が執筆した記事を連載します（以下の記事は8月に執筆された記事です）。

It has been three months since I came to the U.S. I have one month left until I return home. When I first came to the U.S., I was really homesick and wanted to go back to Japan every day, but now every day is fulfilling and I am sad to leave the U.S.

My host family is very energetic and kind. We talk a lot every day. They have a five year-old boy, so we often play board games and puzzles together.　In the evening, we watch a movie together. They also recently took me to a tourist attraction called Lake Tahoe.

I was surprised at one thing when I came to the U.S. Most families have bedtimes on weekdays. That is, most families go to bed really early on weekdays. They go back to their respective rooms around 9:00 p.m. So since I came to America, I have found a very good rhythm in my life.

There are two programs at the university. The first is a three-week program in which only Yasuda students take classes.　From the second program, Japanese students from different universities and people from overseas also take classes together.  The classes are a series of presentations. I am not good at standing in front of people and I get nervous every time, but I am gradually getting used to it and becoming more confident.

The campus is rich in nature and there are many squirrels. I started going to the on-campus gym one month ago.

Since I came here, I have been taking buses or cabs for transportation. If you take the bus, you can get to most places for free.　There is only one bus every hour. But most of the time they don't come on time. So be careful.　Now that my classes end in the morning, I often take the bus to Sacramento.
