Thanksgiving was the most impressive event I had ever experienced. My host mother started preparing for it on the previous day.

I helped her to set the table. Thanks to her detailed advice, I could set it very well. Many relatives of my host mother gathered at the house. My host mother told me that she had invited her relatives to the party a long time ago. She was really looking forward to seeing them.

It was buffet-style. I ate turkey, mashed potatoes, Jell-O (gelatin dessert), green beans, and cranberry sauce.

Everything was delicious. I was impressed not only by the dishes but also by the kindness of her relatives. Even though they were meeting me for only the first time, they greeted me very warmly and treated me like one of their family. They talked to me a lot. I was very glad to meet them.

My house has been decorated for Christmas since November 26th. These stockings are one of the Christmas decorations. This is my stocking. I have become a member of the family.

Thanksgivingは最も印象に残ったイベントです。わたしのホストマザーは前日から準備を進めていました。わたしはテーブルのセッティングを手伝いました。ホストマザーの明確な指示のおかげで美しくセッティングすることが出来ました。当日はホストマザーの親戚が家に集まりました。ずいぶん前から親戚を誘っていたそうで、彼女はみんなに会えるのをすごく楽しみにしていました。食事はブッフェスタイルでした。とても美味しかったです。この日はわたしにとって食事だけでなく、みなさんの優しさに感動した日でもありました。多くの方がわたしと初対面だったにも関わらず、わたしを温かく迎えてくれ、たくさん話しかけてくれました。素敵な出会いでした。わたしの家は11月26日からクリスマスのデコレーションがされています。これらのソックスは家族それぞれの名前が刺繍されているのですが、わたしの名前も仲間入りしていました。家族の一員になれた気がしてとても嬉しいです。
