My Life at UH

2年2組 H.H

About a week has passed since I came to Hawaii. The environment has changed dramatically from Japan, such as living with my host family and studying at the University of Hawaii.
I will introduce my daily life at the University of Hawaii (UH). UH has classes from 8:30 a.m. So, I wake up at 5:30 a.m. and leave home at 6:30 a.m. I usually arrive at school at 8:10 a.m. This is because there is a traffic jam in the morning. The classes include writing and listening, tourism, business classes, and service-learning classes. It was difficult at first because it was all in English, but I gradually got used to it. The classes may include people from other universities or countries. There is a Korean student in my class, so I communicate in Korean. There is a lot of pair work in the class, and I have a lot of time to share my thoughts. Lunch time is from 12:10 p.m. to 13:30 p.m. I eat in the HELP room or outside. You can buy sweets, cup noodles and use hot water for free in the HELP room. Some people bring the rest of their dinner and breakfast for lunch. We have afternoon classes until 16:05 p.m. After class, I often go home. When I get home, I do my homework or go to bed early for the next day because it's early in the morning. Dinner usually starts at 7:30 p.m. in my house, so I take a shower before dinner. I also went to see the sunset because the beach is close to my house. Life at UH has just begun. I would like to communicate with more people.
