Internship at Casablanca
Miho Uratsuji
I worked at Casablanca bridal & formals as an intern for 4 months. Casablanca is a famous bridal shop in Hawaii. I did mainly three jobs as an intern. First, I created a Japanese website to inform Japanese customers of current trends. In addition, I replied to e-mails. Second, I arranged the wedding accessories. It helped customers to see and selected accessories easily. Third, I returned gowns to their original place. Also I participated in few wedding events. There were three tasks at that event. First, I helped prepared for the event. Second, I distributed flyers to visitors and told them about our discount and to enter for the prize. Third, I helped the models prepare for the show. I learned many things from these events. For example, I learned about the difference between Hawaiian and Japanese hospitality. It differs in how to deal with customers. In Japan, the distance between customers and employees is far. But in Hawaii, they are like family. In addition, I learned about the importance of networking.
It is necessary in order to communicate with others. Especially when organizing weddings, asking about the date and place of the wedding is important. By doing so, I could communicate with customers. I had a really good time. This experience was very valuable for me.
