Report on Classes with High School Students
(2018年度高大連携公開講座)
2018.08.24
On August 3rd, we had three classes with 30 energetic and hard-working Hiroshima-area high school students. They were all very interested in English and were an absolute pleasure to teach.
In John's classes, students learned about-and then practiced-the various skills needed for translation, using materials such as children's stories. In Taras' classes, students discussed American society by looking at fast food culture and Hollywood movies.
At the end of the course, we had a small party and enjoyed chatting freely in English over some ice cream with the chairman of our department, Professor Matsuoka. It was a big success and we hope to see all of the students again!
