2016HIBISCUS参加学生は、国際交流の一つとして、金曜日の空き時間を使って、ハワイ大学のキャンパスで日本や日本文化をグルーブごとに紹介しています。 今回のグループは、おもてなしテーブルを開き、日本を紹介したようです。その様子をご紹介します。

Omotenashi Table: Japan Top 10

We did Omotenashi table on April 1st, and introduced about "Top 10 of sightseeing spots in Japan". We made many quizzes about Japan, such as "Where is the most popular sightseeing spot?" "How many prefectures are there in Japan?" and "Where is the capital in Japan?" I was surprised that many people came there than I had expected. And what made me most surprised was that most people were able to speak Japanese, which was not so fluent but understandable enough. They can answer the questions in these quizzes too. I did not think that Japan was known so much to overseas people. I realized that Japanese have to know about Japan. Otherwise we cannot answer if other country's people have some questions. By this experience of Omotenashi table, I came to have an opinion that we should have more pride about Japan.

4月1日、私たちは「おもてなしテーブル」で、ハワイ大学の人々に日本の観光スポット・トップ10を紹介しました。また、おもてなしテーブルに来られる方のために、「日本で一番人気のある観光スポットはどこでしょうか？」「日本にはいくつの都道府県があるでしょうか?」「日本の首都はどこでしょうか？」など、日本についてのクイズもたくさん作りました。 おもてなしテーブルには、思っていたよりもたくさんの人が来てくださり驚きました。そして何より驚いたのは多くの人が日本語を話せたことです。彼らの日本語は、流暢ではありませんでしたが、十分に理解することができるものでした。 また、おもてなしテーブルに来て下さった方たちは、私たちが用意したクイズにも解答することができました。私は、海外の人々がこのように日本をよく知っているとは思っていませんでした。私たち日本人も日本についてもっと知らなければならない、そうしなければ他国の人たちからの質問に答えることもできないと思いました。私は、この「おもてなしテーブル」の経験を通じて、私たちはもっと日本を誇りに思うべきだと思いました。
