UH classes
At UH, in the morning, students take classes in writing, American culture, and listening and speaking, divided by level. In the writing class, we learned about grammar, how to write sentences, and how to create paragraphs. Also, during class, the teacher decided on a topic, and students summarized their opinions. In American culture class, we read the news in the U.S. and had a discussion about what we thought about it. In listening and speaking, we accessed listening programs, we solved listening comprehension questions, watched TED Talk programs every week, and had group discussions. There are 16 classmates in each class, and it is easy to communicate with the teacher and classmates. Another good point is that it is easy to speak up during class. There are many opportunities to express our opinions in front of the class, so I think it is very important to think and express our opinions to others. I was in Class 300, and everyone was actively speaking and asking the teacher questions, and the class as a whole had a good atmosphere and was full of motivation. The afternoon classes are just for Yasuda students. These are: Tourism and Business, and Internship. In the Tourism and Business class, we learned about American companies and gave presentations. In the Internship class, I shared with the class what I had learned through my work and what skills I would like to use in the future. Classes at UH are different from those at Japanese universities and there are many opportunities for us to express our opinions and have discussions.
