前回のNEWS②（児童教育学科、学部・大学院5年一貫コース「英語教育実践」を選択した学生の4年次後期・米国カリフォルニア大学デイヴィス校5ヵ月間留学）の続報です。

また、私たちは児童教育学科の5年一貫コースの1期生として、修士論文に繋がる現地調査も行っていきます。現段階では、こちらの大学の先生と話をして、現地の小学校を訪問したり、教員を目指す学生にインタビューしたりということを計画しています。学校の授業とともに研究もしっかり頑張っていきます。

In addition, as the first students of the Jikyo Ikkan Course, we are going to conduct a local survey that relates to our master's thesis. We have already spoken with a UCD professor and are planning to visit a local elementary school to interview students who aspire to become teachers. We will do our best to carry out the survey alongside our regular classes.

留学に際しては、初めは食べ物や気候、文化の違いと戸惑うことも多く、日本と違う環境に対応できるか、不安な気持ちでいっぱいでした。しかし、それ以上に、日本とは異なる環境や授業、生活で、楽しく充実した日々を過ごせています。まだまだ英語力不足のためできない自分で不自由なことやコミュニケーションがうまく取れないこともありますが、残りの3か月を全力で駆け抜けたいと思います！！（増岡由真，Davis）

Before studying abroad, I was very concerned about differences in food, climate, and culture.  I was anxious at the thought of having to adapt to an environment so different from Japan. However, after arriving at UCD, I have experienced a lifestyle and class structure that is different from Japan. There are still many things I can't express freely or communicate well because of my English skills, but with only 3 months left, I want to give it my all and make the most of this experience.
