Objectives

Graduate School of Nursing, Department of Nursing aims at deepening the special fields of nursing science, and training human resources who can contribute to the healthy development of society.

Regarding human dignity as the basis of all our endeavors, we aim to foster nursing practitioners, researchers and educators who can acquire research evidence in nursing science and put it into practice, based on their expertise, skills and on their scientific knowledge.

Key Features

In a master’s program, two courses have been established aiming at fostering nursing practitioners who can reform and develop existing nursing practice through their leadership, research and education.

・Therapeutic Nursing Intervention Course
This course is designed to foster human resources who can provide nursing care based on human caring, and contribute to the reform and development of clinical nursing practice in terms of clinical judgement, decision-making, nursing interventions, and evaluation in nursing practice.

・Nursing Management Course
This course is designed to foster human resources who can challenge existing nursing management systems, and create an innovative approach to regulating the nursing workforce and their tasks in the areas of quality/risk control, human resource development, and hospital administration and system enhancement, while taking care of the well-being of nursing staff based on caring principles.

The doctor’s course is designed to develop students’ research and educational abilities which were cultivated in the master’s course, to turn their attention to acquiring the knowledge of various academic fields adjacent to nursing, as well as both national and international movements in nursing and medical sciences, and to expand students’ horizons to encourage them to study research questions comprehensively and from a variety of perspectives.

Moreover, the course enables students to accumulate evidence on research questions through laboratory research and epidemiological studies, and fosters their abilities to apply this to clinical nursing care, management, and education. Moreover, the course further develops and deepens their expertise.

In addition, the course fosters researchers and educators who can intuitively apply the various theories and knowledge which are useful for nursing, and who can contribute to the development of nursing science through a comprehensive horizon and deepened expertise.
