This term we have been doing a number of exchange activities with our Australian sister school, Redeemer Elementary School.

Grade 3s and 4s received Japanese letters from their friends at Redeemer and wrote English letters in reply.

Grade 5s did a video chat. The Australian students made presentations about Australian food and pets and at the end, gave us a quiz. Yasuda students divided into groups according to their interests and gave presentations and demonstrations about various aspects of Japanese culture, like food, traditional clothes, card games, kendama, ayatori, manga, anime and so on.

Both sides had a very fun time watching each other's presentations and talking together!

今学期、私たちはオーストラリアの姉妹校であるレディーマー小学校と、さまざまな交流活動を行っています。

３・４年生は、レディーマー小学校の友だちから日本語の手紙を受け取り、英語で返事を書きました。

５年生はビデオチャットを行いました。オーストラリアの児童はオーストラリアの食べ物やペットについて発表し、最後にクイズを出しました。安田の児童は、自分の興味に合わせてグループに分かれ、食べ物、着物、かるた、けん玉、あやとり、マンガ、アニメなど、日本文化のいろいろなことについて発表をしました。

お互いに発表を見たり話したりして、とても楽しい時間を過ごすことができました！
