The theme for Kusunoki Class in Grade 5 is "Have a Global Mind." As part of their curriculum, students went to Global English Camp in the first term and then did research about their dream trip to a foreign country for the speech contest. Finally, some students who are studying abroad in Japan from Bhutan, Belgium, and Thailand, visited our school to talk to the students.
The Grade 5 students learned basic greetings and a little about the countries in English class before the guest speakers came to Yasuda. Then, they listened to presentations, asked questions, and enjoyed the Children's Festival with them. Finally, Yasuda students wrote thank you letters to the visitors. It was a great experience for both the Grade 5 students and for the visiting foreign students.

5年生はより広い世界へと興味が広がる時期です。そして、くすのき学習のテーマも「グローバルマインド」となっています。１学期にはGlobal English Campに行き、英語スピーチの内容も「行ってみたい国」でした。その一環として広島の高校に留学している学生さんとの交流会を３学期にしました。ブータンとベルギーとタイからの留学生から、直接会ってみないと聞かれないような学校生活の話や、なぜ日本に来たのか、などを聞くことができ、とても盛り上がりました。児童たちは簡単なあいさつや国旗の意味などを一緒に言うことも楽しみました。
