Grade4 English Day Camp
August 8, 2020
4年生のEnglish Day Campが中学高校の施設を借りて行われました。
For this year’s English Day Camp, we went over to the Junior/High school building and used their facilities. Students were nervous but excited when they entered the school building. We did many different activities in a short amount of time, but students seemed to have a great time using English to communicate with teachers and each other. The highlights of the day were the “Let’s Eat Out!” role-play as well as using video chat to talk with an American in California.
Students had clear goals for the day. We had guest teachers from the Junior/High School to help us as well.
Students learned to use “Can I have ____, please?” when ordering food at a restaurant, and then used it in a role-playing activity.
We talked with Shinjin (Ms. Kahler’s son) in California. We learned that he likes Carp and Shohei Ohtani! He called each of us by our first names and was very friendly with us. Students were so happy to communicate in English.
